1st xi Warrandyte. Once again Barney lost the toss and we bowled first. Early wickets to Beef and Dan, followed by a couple more to Firey and one to The Chad saw us well on top, having them 6 down for 62 at the drinks break. After the break they settled in a little but constant pressure from the attack saw us well on top in the 28th over when they were 9 for 102. The final pairing for Warrandyte did a fantastic job and nudged the score along to 9 for 152 after 40 overs. A great bowling and fielding effort by all (despite 22 wides!), with no dropped catches and very few misfields on a rough and quick surface.
Following the momentum they gained it was imperative that we regained control of the game with a solid start. Whilst we faired a little better than in recent outings we still managed to give the opposition a sniff of victory with poor shot selection. Three of the top five got a start and failed to go on with it. At 6 for 88 it looked as though we might have finally shot ourselves in the foot. But The Chad and Two Stomachs had other plans. A well contructed partnership of 37 saw us edge closer. Following Gregs dismissal and that of Firey shortly afterwards, we required 11 runs of the last two overs and they needed to get two wickets. No problem for our man Dan, entrusted with getting the runs, so The Chad could protect his average, he casually racked them up with one ball to spare.
Once again a fantastic team effort, with stand out performances from Dan, The Chad and Two Stomachs Gardam. Now it's two day games until the seasons end, if we are to improve on our 8 and 1 start we must find some form at the top of our innings, and continue to bowl and field as we have been.
Well Done Boys!!

Boof should never bowl again following his 20/20 efforts. One Tonne was correct, " Boof can't bowl" BANNED!!!!
After last weeks poor performance nothing short of a win was required against the top side. South Warrandyte won the toss and had a bat. On a dry, fast Mt. Lilydale ground we knew we had to bowl well to avoid defending a massive total. Dewy got us off to a great start with a wicket on the 2nd ball of the day. We continued to bowl well throughout the innings and although we had to chase 191 we felt we were right in the game providing we batted with the right frame of mind. Javier and Burls got us off to a great start putting on 51 inside 10 overs. Steady partnerships throughout and a very handy 39 wides saw us steadily get closer to our target. With one over to go we required 4 runs. With one ball remaining we still required 2 runs from the new batsmen Justin Perkins. Thankfully he picked out the right fieldsmen who dropped a straight forward catch allowing Matt Gibbs to scramble home for the second. The lucky win (our 4th out of the last 5) puts us 3rd and keeps our finals hopes alive. A great team performance with everyone playing their role. Special mention to Jimmy who made a well made 35 and Dewy who bowled brilliantly for his 2-22. The win also lifts Burls overall captaincy record to above 10 percent!
