Just interested to see which attribute each individual holds the most value. Is it natural ability, the ability to work 100% as a team player, hardest worker on the track, the never say die attitude, the player with the best jokes at first slip or a great feeling for the game.
the greatest attribute i feel is the never say die attitude we as a club used to give in to easily and just roll over but i think this attitude is changing
playing as a team is 2nd
we are unique, i feel there arnt that many individuals at the den and this is a great thing to have

i think the most valuble attribute for a player is his teamwork; talk in the feild, encouragment, leadership, able to work for his team mates.
a great player is someone who can adapt, someone who can take the good with the bad, someone who can encourage and turn a teams attitude into positive, someone who is willing to step up, someone who can lift a side when their down.
the most valuble attribute for a cricketer at MCC is leadership both on and off the track.....
Not entirely Mitch, leadership is a great attribute to have, but some of the best players and team mates are not great leaders. I do agree with you that team work and team ethics are essential ingredients through out the club.. We sometimes forget that cricket is a team game and we get caught up with individual statistics, especially in our junior ranks. To many trophies I say, that's why I love the Barry Wellington Medal, it rewards and identifies the team players.

Agree with your comment on junior cricket, So many games ruined by kids wanting to win batting and bowling averages rather than actually having a crack, winning the game and having fun doing so. Cant understand why coaches tell kids to bat out games and lose by 50 runs rather than have a crack, loose some wickets give every kid a bat and have a chance to win the game. I understand that junior cricket is partly about developing skills for senior cricket and teaching kids not to play across the line but telling kids never to take a risk, block for twenty overs so they can win a trophy at the end of the year is crap. Most kids play junior cricket for fun not to watch their teamates inflate their own ego's. Abolish averages in junior cricket, either give awards based on most runs or most wickets or no individual awards at all
