Andy & burls are doing a terffic job coaching us youngsters and teaching us a thing or two (probably about 1000 things..) about the game. I'll tell ya what though, the wild card this year is definetly *nathan mc Cole* made his first apperance tonight at training, and he looked a very good opening bowler.. I heard a few whispers that he was even commented on bowling like Glen McGrath (if thats how you spell it??), which i totally agree with & i cant wait to have in my 11 this year!!
Timmy 'garfield' Swoboda is looking better every week, he told me that he was a batter..... i tell you what, he looks to be joining side with nath this year as opener in bowling!! what do you reckon about that andy? Keep up the good work timmy!
Officail senior traning is starting on the 4th August, and it is compusory that all 18's players attend (unless you have a very good exuse!). i cant wait to see you all down there & welcome all the new players to the club this year!
And that means you too Johnny Gordon, get out of the bushes and into civilization! get down here and do what you do best!!
Why would Timmy C have a decision to make? I thought the club had implemented a policy on such issues? If "The Fat Controller" or One Tonne is reading please clarify? Have the U/18s appointed their captain yet? If so, I hope it has been sanctioned by the committee as is the usual procedure?

I am enjoying the input by everyone and its good to see an array of ideas. All teams junior and senior are the responsibility of all committee members, players,parents,supporters and everyone helping to organize and structure the club to improve and move forward.At Montrose i believe no one person owns a team or has the ability to appoint coaches or captains without the go ahead from the committee. I could be wrong.
I hope you are correct Smo. You are correct Mitch, I am very interested in every team at Montrose. In fact I'm interested in every player from the under tens, through to our oldest senior player. Unfortunately as yet I haven't been able to embrace the Veterans concept, but I'll try to get along and support them if we get a team up this year?
I too am enjoying everybody's input. The problem with written forums is, things can be taken out of context and some of us a little bit sensitive. Remember we should all have the same objective, whats best form Montrose Cricket Club.
And yes, Nathan McColl bowled very well on Thursday night. I think he has a bright future.

Again well done to all U21's players who have been training for the past 6 weeks, on behalf of us all i'd like to thank andy and burls on some wonderful coaching and giving up there time to help us all, and we all really appreciate the way you have helped us this year so far.
To all 18's get your ass' down to training this tuesday!! and learn from the seniors how to play the game, this is your first stepping stone towards being senior cricketers. remember you are the future, get the best out of yourselves and train as you would play.. its going to be a big year, as senior cricketers you will you will have to step up to the plate!

Whats his name, but tim the only problem is we already have tooo many players... suppose one of them could play full time seniors.
Acually thats an idea, we will have a rotation policy.. where two players dont play in the morning an save themselves for the afternoon. what do you think boof & barney???
Right on the money Boof. I have only seen him bat once but it is clear to see that he needs to play straighter with the full face of the bat. Essential against a swinging new ball. Looks to have some talent though.
go easy on him one tonne, he is a great batter and i believe in him 100%.
Yeah he may have a few swings in the nets, but thats what training is for to try new things. I'm not saying to swing all the time, but play a few shots and practice them. Now don't you all scare him away now.. i took alot to get him down here!

Im trying to open, the problems Im facing is I was opening well a couple of seasons ago, and due to a idiot ex-coach, I was batting 11, and just become a full hack, as most players from the YVCA are. I have been trying to get back into opening form. Plus I want my bat back, Its been almost 2 months and I still dont have it!!! :(

Correct One Tonne, very talented and a very good listener. Just needs reminding every now and then, don't we all!! I'm sure no body is trying to scare him away Mitch, he has made a great impression on all that have seen him.
By the way Mitch, I see you've adjusted the proposed batting order "because of all the recent complaints"? That may be a dangerous precedent to set, you may find you get lots of complaints. Can't keep everybody happy all of the time. I'm sure Smo and The Real Burls will have some strong views on captaincy and how it's not a popularity contest?

Anyway what i write on the forum..is actually 95% bull**** and just mucking around, so no this is'nt the real batting line up it is just fun.. FUN.. So the batting order that i 'adjusted' was not official, it was just a bit of fun to have a go at placing the order. I think it is up to Johnny to work out the line up, as we havn't even trained fully yet.
AND HANG ON A SECOND andy you the one who asked for a batting line up anyway! i think you contradicted yourself... as you stated earlier: "Nice team Mitch. Any chance you could place them in a batting order?" please explain.......
So you have asked me to give you a batting order, and then you tell me that it is dangerous to and something about captincy???
One thinks someone is a little too sensitive, Mitch. Is your last post 95% Bull**** or is it a serious one? Very hard to tell? Maybe you could let us know when you are serious and when you are not? The last thing I would want to do is offend one of my club mates (unless it's "The Chad").

i am just about sick of this forum, russ is really starting to piss me off.
my reputation is sinking very low, and russ keeps editing my posts by deleting what i say.. i am thinking about resigning. and i think our realtionship is distancing and getting bad - andy.
