For those of you familiar with this, this is a lil program we've been running over the last 2 years as basically a very early pre season - mainly directed at the youth of the club to work on all aspects of our game.. senior members are also encouraged to come along to help and would be much appreciated!
Ten Bears is currently workin out with topline a set of dates that we can go down there and begin this..
let us know if your keen and if you have any mates who are keen bring them down as well!!!
When are you starting these sessions Spik? Is there an age limitation? Is it invitee's only or is everyone welcome? Do we have have to pay? What sort of stuff will we be doing? Is it hard? Can I bat first? Will I get a bowl every week?

You can bat, you cant bowl we dont want the young brigade getting a false sense of confidence. Ill bring Jake one week and you can bowl then. Can I play Javier?
Going to be the hardest pre season the junior squad has ever had. Plenty of running. plenty of bouncers. plenty of laughing. Not sure if we have to pay. Big rus will be all over that.
Maybe if we all gave 5 bucks or something, we could get professional coaching (no offense Boof)
like i said before russ is tryin to sort out times with topline.. That'll than answer the paying question.. For all ages and whoever wants to do a good hard pre season... You can bat.. And you can only bowl to me near the start of the season to get my confidence up.. Most likely consist of the net sessions.. Fitness sessions possibly weight sessions if anyones interested or if anyones got any ideas feel free to chuck then on here ey..
The coach/coaches (If we have one?) identify the players they'd like in the development squad. They get a letter from Wolfie. Then we start training. Burls runs it and we all do as he says. Burls will ask other senior/old players to come and help him, then after about 8 weeks pre season training proper starts. I think that's how it has worked in the past?
Relax Spik, just toyin with ya...

ahh yerr that sounds bout right.. I dunno, russ just asked me to chuck a reminder on here bout it and he was gonna work out the times.. Either way lookin forward to it! Haha i know mate sames
True but it would be best for him to get on to it ASAP its hard to recover from an expanded gut! I've tried on numerous occasions with no joy (not too hard though)!
Who do I hassle to make sure I can hold of one of these letters? If that won't work, can I borrow someone else's letter?? If that won't work, anyone up for a hit at the Montrose nets on sat 29th may? 11 o'clock. I'll be bowling at no-one anyway, so if you feel like batting, I'll see you there.
just got my letter boof, and all it says is under no circumstances are you allowed to attend pre season training as you could be a distraction to the people that actually enjoy training and may be a negative influence.I understand its a new and rather inexperienced coaching panel but i thought it was pretty harsh on myself as i have attended a club record 11326 training sessions and given nothing but at least 10% of my ability at everyone of those sessions. But being the clubman i am i will respect the coaches wishes[under duress] and turn up when the real stuff is about to begin and hope that my natural ability will get me through as it has in decades gone by.
I think it will be very hard for the CHAD to come to terms with my lazy, even arrogant approach towards training.Having started at opposite ends of the spectrum, with CHAD being a workmanlike cricketer with limited abilities who fought tooth and nail, combined with a massive work ethic, just to get a regular 1st eleven game, and myself being a naturally gifted athlete[albeit an ugly one] who thought training was a waste of time, the potential for differences of opinion and heated exchanges exist.Im hoping with CHADS training as a secondary teacher and my "im a lover not a fighter attitude" we will be able to work as one and go forward with a united approach for the betterment of the montrose cricket club.Bring on the 2010/11 season,i cant wait.
