Boys heres one for the brains trust... Given the amount of rain we have had, (and that we're stil sposed to get across the summer) should we invest in some sort of cover for the pitch? Obviously we dont need a huge one, maybe one that covers the pitch and maybe 5 or 6 meters around it. If its raining friday, or forecast is for rain friday, covers go on thurs night at training. Im thinking some **** of thick tarps from bunnings, possibly some donations even! Our outfield drains that quickly its seems logical that if we can control the amount of water on the pitch (which is what will stop us from playing) then why shouldnt we? Plus teams know this is happening, they know we are up for each and every contest given that we go to these lengths to get a game started, mental edge boys! interested in any thoughts!!!

I brought that point up a few weeks ago.. It's a great idea! Only problem is the covers will probably get destroyed or stollen by the public of Montrose. most premier grounds (or any turf grounds) are supervised by a full time curator, so covers and other equipment are safe and guarded.
For this to work we could get a few volunteers to check up on the ground (if we use the covers) a few times during the day..
It's been a while since you were a bored teenager hasn't it miff. Stealing them is just one option. There's moving, cutting, burning and hiding them. And I'm sure the teenagers in Montrose can think of a few more. I'm not saying it's a bad idea. I think it's a great idea, but in my humble opinion there's as many idiots on this planet as raindrops. But hey, at least we can have idiots charged. It's at least worth a try.
