We'll done to Matt McKane on his first X1 debut this week. Fourth debutant this year? Montrose CC seems to be a club willing to promote young players performing and training well, with the correct attitude.

Also interesting to see Barney Edwards (formerly the premier bat in the comp) dropped to number 6 in the batting order. Might be on his way out if he doesn't get a score this week?

The right attitude, a willingness to learn and the ability to listen are all valuable tools if you want to be the best you can be. We have lots of young players with these traits and I'm sure we will see many more success stories like Matt in the future. So all the young Wolves should be encouraged by these selections and put their heads down work hard and keep listening, learning, be positive and encourage your mates.

It certainly is great to be part of exciting times Howard. I reckon it's a great credit to all those junior coaches and helpers that we have so many under 20's in our top two grades. Not many first X1's we come up against have 3 players under 19 in them, especially with 2 batting in the top 5.
