I see we are advertising for a top order batsman on the rdca website! Just wondering if this means we as a club are going to start paying players to come to the club just as players. I dont mind if they come and play to be part of the club and help the clubs progress on field and add to our younger developing players. But please no mercenaries or old cricketers just trying to make a quick buck. Surely money would be better used to fix nets. I dont believe in drawing players to a club for money! Can upset the balance and cause clicks and splits in a club.
I'm with you Smo, hopefully we're not paying anyone unless they are in a coaching capacity. Going from the Treasurers Report at the AGM, I doubt that we can afford to anyway. Those nets are terrible!!!

Settle boys, this is just an invitation to anyone who might consider themselves a top order bat who might be looking for an opportunity or just a change. This was something that I spoke to Briso and Wogga about and is something I saw another club post on the website last year. You both know my thoughts on "paid players" other than coaches. I remember playing with you Kev in 80/81 when all those paid rats deserted the sinking ship and left a bunch of kids to fill the void.
I was at the Wandin ground on Sunday who have pretty ordinary facilities and even they have brand spanking new nets. I agree new nets are definitely a priority for our club.
Not necessarily boof. Ad says if you "consider" yourself a top order batsmen.I never did but theres alot of duds out there that do " CONSIDER" themselves top order batsman or stars!
