Preseason for the under 18's players will commence with the 'development squad' or otherwise known as the under 21's preseason squad. Training will be taken by the U/21's care taker/supercoach 'Peter Burley & sidekick Andy Mirams. They will take us for about 6/8 weeks according to 10 Bears (russ). This will probably start on the 25th of june at 6.30, im not to sure where...probs at topline.

note, this is not the officail training for the 18's, this is just for those keen young cricketers who are eager to learn from the best, and get a head start with their cricket. Its valuble training and coaching which you should be very appreciative of.

U/18's training will start later in the year, but it would be great to see you all there and getting a head start with your cricket for this year!

With Andy's experience and brilliance with the bat (probably not the ball), and burls' great & knowlegable tips, you should all take this valuble opportunity to improve your skills and character as cricketers.

Yes obviously the U/18's are part of the senior club and they will be training with the seniors, as they are seniors.... See Andrew like in football the senior club consists of U/18's, Reserves, and the firsts. In our senior club I like to think the 18's are seniors, but taking the opputunity to play against their own age levels in the morning, they are not 'juniors' anymore.

If you are worried about the training nights speak to the coach: John Gordon. We will be traning as a lone team one night a week (maybe before seniors train on tuesday; then they can train with seniors after), as a team needs to bond... I beleive its vital for a team to train with its team mates, as you would understand as a past coach yourself.

Finally, yes i did know that Brett was our senior president and if anyone tells you otherwise they can speak to me, obviously Brett has shared this with you, Brett knows the real story.

What I meant with cricket clubs being the same as football clubs, is that in cricket the U18's train with seniors because they are seniors, - like football, the 18's are part of the senior club... please explain?

During training playes will bond, get to know each other, learn what each other are like as cricketers, train as a team. Bonding as a team will allow players to learn about each other, and bonding as mates, therefore they are a great positive team. I think you'll find that the words 'learn' and 'bond' are pretty simular in the way that I used them. If the 18's train only with the seniors, and not as a lone team one night a week, how are they supposed to bond and gell as a team, and be prepared to play on a saturday with not knowing each other skills & abilities. Because on senior training nights the 18's will be split; either on the top or bottom oval not training together....... Do you see what i mean yet?

Yes you do need to speak to John Gordon seems you have such a problem with the training nights, & no his not there to add colour, he is there to teach us players how to bat, bowl and feild. He is there as a teacher, councellor, friend, helper and a coach. These 5 points are roles of a coach, as you should know Andrew.

Not sure that I know where all this aggression is coming from Super Star? I simply responded to your response to Chickenwings question about pre-season training. My response was that I thought they'd be training with the senior group (that's why I used a ? after my comment).

I'm pretty sure Peter Burley passed away about 8 years ago.

My comment about the Football and Cricket clubs not being alike was not in reference to the u/18s, but purely a tongue in cheek dig at us being better blokes than them, sorry if this confused you.

Our differing opinions on training/bonding/learning are simply that opinions. Mine is right yours is wrong..

John does and always will add a bit of colour, says so in his club profile.. And why would I need to speak with him?

Brett McKane is our President, he's not just the training co-ordinator as some would think...

The u18's, I am sure will make a very valuable impact on the club not only this year but for years to come. I think last years results were greatly impacted by the first u18's side of a few years ago.
