Lowlight of the season - Conceding over 500 runs against Bayswater Park - bloody long 2 days!
Who has shocked you - the improvement in Bryce's keeping - first week was horrible!
2,3,4,5,6's will all play finals! - Hopefully we can get at least one premiership!
Highlights = The return of "The AXE", Sooty's first Century for the Wolves, First team Debuts to Alfie, Booker and Schicks, Roo's preformance as captain of the 3rd XI
Lowlights = First XI Results, Training Numbers, Lack of Subs, Chad Rogers Batting against First XI's, Barney's failure to go on a get a really big score.
Shocked me = Bryce Edwards (amazing improvement), Josh Crowe (doesn't bowl a bad ball), Knackers Crowley* (only one recorded flip)
Let Downs = BACON!!, Boof, The Chad, Barney, Gus, H.Dew, J. Mottram, S.Falkingham, T. Christou, The Under 16's.
Possible Resurrections = All of the "Let Downs" especially The Chad and the Under 16's
Big Improver's for the rest of the year = M.Smith, D.Schickerling, A. Wellington, K.Perkins, J. Podesta
Finals = 2's?, 3's and 4's. Reckon the 1's can still make it but they need to play 160 overs per game and heed the advice of Nick Brisbane..

highlights - D.Stevens 7fa, Chubs hat trick lots of tons already, Axe Roo Sooty helping teach the 3,4, 5's how to play the game and get the winning spirit alive. Moon Doggy, seeing the new rooms come along. Crowey bowling figures first game. u/16 playing seniors. Possum and Libs job with the junior coordinator, Beef putting a few better than average scores in a row, Fiery becoming a consistent 30 scoring batsman, Fatsy's BBQ's , SMO work on past players etc.
low lights/ letdowns - Yep you Bacon. Aladdin's injury. Porpy's stupid decision to go to Perth, drinking cans at the club from your car, unnecessary negative comments about the club on face-book, people who can see something that needs to be done or cleaned or put away and don't just fix it, people using the club as a bank, players not paying their subs, players who don't come back to see how their clubs other teams have gone, firsts unable to get runs to win a game,
shocked by performances Bacon just cant get my head around it, this time last year he was keen, positive and willing to try hard. Im not shocked by Bryce he has done everything he could to improve his game. Boof bowling again - WHY??

Highlights: All the tons being made latley, 3rds great form, Watching B. Nucifora bat - is a delight (hit two sixes into the Allein rd end), J. Garthwaite's freakish skills with the bat - imagine if he trained!, must say tims sledging can be pretty funny to watch, Bretts Hat-trick, Andy's return to the 1's, miffs consitancy, playing on the main ground
Things that can be changed & turned around: More positive encouragement within the club, getting more players back to keith hume on thursday & saturday nights, getting more players to training, development of upcoming players & current players, team spirit & effort, actually doing real warm ups in the 3rds to 6's,
Wheres that old Montrose spirit? you know that old feeling, when everyone came to training & came to support after match presentations, Wheres Johnny Gordon, dom penetta, the fords, gosland, burjo & justin perkins.
Wheres that feeling gone, these days at the club its just flat and lonely, i want to see all the old faces back , montrose to move to chandler, players to become more commited and see more enthusiasm. Lets do something about lifting the club up, playing for each other, wearing that emblem with pride, and getting the best out of each other!!!!

Andy - bit harsh on Barney is he suppose to make up for the rest of the sides inadequacies?
I don't reckon it's harsh Dan. I love Barney, reckon he's in great form, just disappointed he hasn't gone on with it. I bet he's even more disappointed than me.
I agree with you on Bacon (I love him as well) too, perhaps his work with the 12's is hurting his own game? Tough gig coaching juniors and playing, makes for a long day.
You reckon Beef gets a raw deal Dan? I really love Beefa, him and Jimmy The Bison are two of my all time favorites. I reckon Jimmy gets judged harshly..

Fair call withs Barney Andrew but would you see his season in the same vain if the lower order had gone on to win say 2 out of 3 of those games?
Beefa was yes. Clearly in the best 11 at the club, probably the best 5, and at this club they are the only criteria for picking players (Which if fine), probably suffered from there being 2 all rounders that are better than him at the club. Jimmy gets a fair deal i think, probably didnt get the runs or wickets last year and this year he did and has come up (Where he belongs!)
I think I would still be disappointed for him (us) but it probably would be covered over a little by some better results. I'm not saying he is to blame for those loses though, we bat all the way down.
I too think Beefa is in our top echelon of players. I don't think it will hurt him or the club in the long term for him to have had to earn his spot back. Perhaps we need to be a bit more consistent in selection policies? I imagine it must be confusing and not very transparent at times?
My views on Jimmy are probably based on his whole senior career, not just this year. I know that when I coached he was on a bit of a Yo yo ride. He always seems to get shuffled around, must be very frustrating. I think his best cricket is in front of him. Premiership player who will win another one or two..
Benny Grey bowling in the wet must be a highlight not a lowlight?
